Important Information
AIR Assessments - Thank you to all of you for being the first line of communication when it comes to students questions regarding the AIR Assessments. Also, thank you for your thoughtful questions at the staff meeting regarding these tests. I have answered all of the Frequently Asked Questions for you on the Google presentation in the event you need to refer back to document. Click here to access the presentation and let me know if anything comes up that you can not address.
AIR Tech Skills - It is essential that time is spent exploring areas of the AIR Assessment where students are going to be required to master certain tech skills. For some subject this may mean using an online graph and calculator and in other areas a highlighter, using a video player, dragging and dropping and scrolling. Please use InfoOhio's online tool in assisting students with these necessary technology tools. Click here to create an online Pearltree account and begin exploring the site. Here are some additional resources broken up by topic.
Relay for Life - In an attempt to get more students involved in this year's Relay for Life event on April 30th, we are holding a meeting for all club/activity board members on March 11 during 5A advisory period. Please communicate this with your club leaders and ask that they attend.
Paper - Please be considerate of the environment and our finances by limiting the amount of paper you use in the classroom. There are many alternatives to using paper that can have increased benefits to learning. For example, use a Learning Management System (LMS) and or assessment tools such a Google classroom, Moodle, Google Docs, Edcite, Schoology, Socartive, Lightening Grader, Khan Academy, etc.

Youth Art Month - Congratulations to many of our art students who will have work displayed at the Geauga West Library during the month of March. Please be sure to stop over to check out these fine pieces. See the flyer on the right for a full list of students deserving recognition.
Winter Athletics - It is hard to believe but the winter athletic season is almost complete. A huge congratulations to Kami Goodrick for placing third in the 1 Meter State Diving Competition. Be sure to wish Joe Fornaro the best as he travels to Columbus this weekend to complete in the State Wrestling Tournament.
Here are some additional athletic news items from Joe Leonette:
- The Boys Basketball team won its sectional semi-final game against Edgewood HS 61-49. Unfortunately the season came to a close after losing to the top seeded team in the Lakeside Division II District “Jefferson High School” this past Friday.
- Congratulations to Kami Goodrick for her outstanding performance on the diving board, while battling with a painful knee injury. She finished 2nd in the district then beat the district champion as she finished 3rd in the state among some quality competition.
- Congratulations to the Gymnastics team for earning a 2nd place at the Sectional Division I Tournament and qualifying to the District Tournament for the 1st time in school history. Individuals who advance to the District Tournament were Caroline Wolfhope, Lexy Ange and Sami Angi
- Congratulations to Joey Fornaro for his exceptional performances over the past few weekends on the wrestling mat. Joey finished 2nd in the Division II wrestling sectional at Lake Catholic High School and ended up winning the Alliance District Wrestling tournament. His next stop will be Columbus, Ohio where he will compete at the state tournament.
