Reductions - Per Dr. Markwardt's email on January 29th, I met with several of our buildings teachers to convey a difficult message. The language of the RIF posting was very specific to high school positions; therefore, I felt it necessary to speak to those affected by the RIF individually. As our superintendent noted, situations do sometimes change and staff members affected will be immediately notified. Please feel free to let me know if you have questions regarding the Reduction in Force Notification.
Academic Support Forms - Please remember to submit academic support forms for struggling students. Key dates needed for documentation and parent contact are when the student begins to struggle, week three and week six. There is also necessary continued documentation to show support and used/attempted intervention strategies. The CAP team meets on Tuesdays to review all support forms. For more information, click on the Academic Support Form link found at the top of this bulletin.
Science Fair - Thank you to all of our teachers in the science department that spent Saturday morning at the WGMS. MANY students participating in this year's Science Fair. It was a fantastic event that involved students working independently and collaboratively with our staff leading up to the event. Great job, everyone. Check out some of the photos and be sure to congratulate all the students that participated. Results are posted here.
State Infrastructure Test - The following teachers will participate in high school's infrastructure test on February 3rd during 1st period: Mrs. Gregory, Mrs. Ledman, Mr. Bryan, Mr. Rogge, Mrs. Klampe, Mr. Klein, Mr. Toriello, Ms. Emans, Mr. Marino, Ms. Cooey and Mrs. O'Janpa. This document will describe information needed for the test. Please set aside a few minutes to review the document and instructions from the state prior to Wednesday morning. It is not difficult but will save you time on Wednesday. Let me know if you have any questions.

Hoops for Hope - West G has three regional hoops champ representatives: Nico Morgano (9th/10th grade), Zachary Suba (11th/12th grade), and Ms. Danielle Emans (18+). All three will be heading to the Q just hours before the Sat., Feb. 6th Cavs vs. New Orleans Pelicans.Anyone interested in attending the game can purchase tickets online here, and $10. of the ticket money will go directly to West Geauga's Relay for Life fundraising event for the American Cancer Society.
