Important Information
TIDE Pilot Test - The TIDE test will be given to students during the week of April 7th. Please click here for the test schedule and click here for participating students.
PARCC Pilot Test - The PARCC Pilot Tests will be given to students during the first week back from Spring Break. Please click here for the test schedule and click here for the participating students.
Rating Scales - Our school psychologist, Suzanne Fletcher, will often send you rating scales via email for you to complete. Please make sure those scales are complete and returned to her by the due date. Please get any outstanding forms in asap.
Classroom Supplies - Any last minute classroom supplies need to be ordered by Friday, April 4th. Please get PO's to Joyce.
PARCC Update (Previously sent in an email) - The full practice test for PARCC ELA PBA gr 3-11 is now available on http://practice.parcc.testnav.com/#. Click on the Practice Test tab. There are answer keys (students will need to mark their answers on the test - and on a separate piece of paper if you want to actually grade it - it will not score it for you) The best part is that there is detailed info on each item explaining how it is aligned to the standards/evidence tables. http://www.parcconline.org/practice-test-answers
This is a practice test available to any district - it is not part of the field testing. Great for class practice, showing parents or PTAs etc. You do not need to have the Pearson TestNav8 platform downloaded to use the practice tests. It would still be a good idea to do the TUTORIAL first, then the sample items - before the full PBA for English. The PBA is the assessment piece that will be given in late Feb/early March next year.
Teacher Websites - Please make sure you keep your teacher website up to date.
Copiers and Printing - All students and teacher are equipped with Google Drive and email. Please share documents with your students digitally. Even with these technologies, our copiers and paper usage has continued to increase. Check out this link to read 12 effective ways to use Google Drive in education.

Curriculum Maps and Pacing Guides - Make sure you continue to work in the Google Doc that was shared with you by Sean Whelan. At this point, curriculum maps should be completed through the end of the third quarter. Keep up the good work!
SLO's - I shared a folder in each of your department's Google Drive where you were asked to submit your completed SLO's. Please create a class folders for each SLO you are writing and place the relevant documents in this folder. Be sure to include the pre and post-assessments in their respective folders. Reminder - A large portion of your assessments need be extended response and essay questions. See me if you have any questions.

IAT Meetings - As part of the RTI process, teachers are being asked to attend Intervention Assistance Team meetings. These meetings are typically held at 2:30 in the guidance conference room for students who are struggling academically. Please plan on attending these meetings and bring with you the student's current progress report from Progress Book. Your detailed input in this process is valued and greatly appreciated. There have been some great headway made as a result of these meetings!
