Important Information
Book Bags - Please enforce the rules that are laid out in the student handbook. Students should not carry a book bags to any class. Direct the students to their locker to put the book bag away.
Warm Weather and Appropriate Clothing - With the warmer weather around the corner, please enforce the student dress code policy. Item four of the policy states:
- Bare midriffs, tank tops, muscle shirts (boys) and transparent shirts or blouses, and spaghetti-strap tops (girls) are not permitted. Undergarments should not be visible. Revealing clothing is prohibited (plunging necklines, bare backs, and exposed midriffs/navels).
PARCC Pilot Test - Thank you to Mrs. Rex, Mr. Shiban and Mr Toriello for a successful run of PARCC's pilot test. We have learned a lot about the test and will be able to provide valuable feedback to the state. One thing I have heard over and over again from the administering teachers and students is how tricky it was to take an assessment on the computer. This means we all need to get the students in front on the practice PARCC test soon. Next year counts!
PARCC - I can't emphasize enough the need to familiarize yourself with the what will be expected of the students during next year's PARCC assessments.

SLO's - I shared a folder in each of your department's Google Drive where you were asked to submit your completed SLO's. Please create a class folders for each SLO you are writing and place the relevant documents in this folder. Be sure to include the pre and post-assessments, rubric and SLO template in their respective folders. Reminder - A large portion of your assessments need be extended response and essay questions. See me if you have any questions.

Google Drive - This week Sean will present Google Drive in another Tech Wednesday session. We are using Google Drive more and more to share documents with students and colleagues. It is important we all understand how to access and create documents that are shared with other Google users. Check out this cool post by a math teacher who creates animated step by step math procedures that he shares in a Google Doc. Thanks to Kristin Gregory for sharing this blog post.
Academic Referrals - Reminder that Academic Support Forms need to be submitted as soon as a student is struggling in your class. Also submit forms after a student has been struggling at three weeks and six weeks. Link to forms are located at the top of this page.
Monitor Halls - Please stand at your door between periods. Not only does this help curb any negative behavior, it is a nice gesture to greet the students as they enter your room.
