Important Information
Track and Field - Be sure to congratulate senior Audrey Rabe on setting a school, meet and area record this weekend at the Hilltoper Invitational track meet with a vault of 11'-7". Paedyn Gomes also had a great meet with a win in the 110 meter hurdles. See some outstanding photos of both Audrey and Paedyn here.
New Roof - Work has begun on the new high school roof. The majority of the install will be completed following school hours and should not disrupt the school day. It looks like we will have a leak free roof by the last day of school!
School Safety - In light of the recent school violence, Mr. Palmer sent an email to the entire staff reminding everyone of the school safety essentials. Please review this email and be sure to make yourself visible in the hallways between period and report any questionable activity to the administration.
Absences - When you are going to be out of the building for any reason, it is your responsibility to secure a substitute through AESOP.
Chromebooks - We had successful round of Next Generation Assessments that was all completed using Chromebooks. Many of your expressed your concern regarding Chromebooks and the challenges using the device. Be sure to check out this good website showing 100 best Chromebook tips and tricks.
TIDE Testing - Thank you to Wes Rogge, Ben Speros, Mike Taurasi and Stephanie Rischar for their successful participation in the TIDE Pilot Test. Again, these pilot tests provide valuable information to the teachers, students, administration and the state regarding what to expect next year. We are required to perform one additional test between May 5 and May 16. Ron will provide you with the schedule as it is completed.

Even if you do not teach the above subjects, it is important to become familiar with the test specifications because your subject will be out soon. Looking at these documents will provide you with the structure of the assessments. Use this information to prepare your students to take these tests!
PARCC Assessments - If you are and ELA or Math teacher, check out this link to access practice test questions for the End of the Year Assessments. The same teachers that ran through the Performance Based Tests will participate in the End of the Year Assessments. The May testing schedule will be sent out by Ron when we have more information.
Reach Each One - With seven weeks left in the school year it is important to stay focused on the goals we established at the beginning of the year. How have you reached out to the student in the room who is quiet and doesn't show much of an interest in your class? How have you pushed a student who has an A+ in your class to achieve even more?
