Important Information

Online Students - I have received many compliments regarding the work you are doing with our remote students.  Thank you for working through the challenges associated with teaching both online and in-person students.  I recently observed a teacher restating to the online students a question that was asked by an in-person student. Before the teacher answered the question, the teacher restated the question into the computer's microphone so the students at home could hear the question. This allowed the students at home to follow along and also learn from another student's question.  Thanks for your hard work, everyone. If you have other best practices to share, please let me know.

Priority Instructional Content - If you are an ELA or math teacher, please be sure to look at this website from Achieve The Core. This website will be a good resource should we have disruptions to our schedule due to school closure, etc.  The information presented in the link is designed to "provide guidance for the field about the content priorities by leveraging the structure and emphases of college- and career-ready mathematics and ELA/literacy standards."

Friday's PD - Please see the links below for the available videos and presentations from Friday's PD sessions. Please click here to complete a survey from Jeremy Hunter's presentations.

Parent-Teacher Conferences - Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on Oct. 1 and Oct 8 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M.  The event is online, but please be in the building for conferences.  Parents are in the process of signing up for conferences using the Google Form shared with you last week.  On the morning of Thursday, Oct. 1, we will close the conference sign up for that day.  An email will be sent to you with a list of parents that signed up along with their scheduled time slot. Please send a BCC email to your parents with the link to your Zoom session.  Again, I recommend using one link for the evening and utilizing the waiting room in Zoom.  Please come to the conferences prepared to talk about the students.  Have student work samples, anecdotal notes, and assessment results available to share with the respective parents.

PSAT/NMSQT/ASVAB - This year's PSAT test day will look different from years past.   In addition to administering the PSAT, we will also offer the ASVAB.  Due to COVID, we will need to utilize all teachers in the administration of this test. Therefore, the only students reporting to school on October 14th, 2020, will be those taking a test.  I am sending out this communication to families on Tuesday, September 29, 2020.  Please make sure your students are well aware of this information.  Thank you.
