Requesting Substitutes - When needing a substitute, please put your request in as soon as possible. As you know, we are having a difficult time securing substitutes. The longer the notice is posted, the better the chance of securing someone to cover your classes. Thanks.
West Geauga Education Foundation - Do you have a great idea for the classroom that could use some funding? If so, the West Geauga Education Foundation is interested in hearing about your idea. The foundation is a non-profit organization that funds innovative approaches to teaching and learning for West Geauga Schools. Grants are awarded two times per year. Deadlines to apply are November 13, 2020, and February 12, 2021. Please be sure to read the WGEF Staff Letter here and consider completing a West Geauga Education Foundation Grant Application here.
PSAT - As posted last week, the PSAT will be given to all sophomore students and interested freshmen and junior students on October 14, 2020. We will also administer the ASVAB on this day to interested seniors. If students are not testing, they do not report to school. English teachers, please communicate with your online students that they have to come to school on the 14th if they are testing. All staff members will participate in the test day. David Callahan put together an informational video for you to watch ahead of the test day. Please take some time review this video and the associated brief training materials ahead of the assessment.
Spirit Week - Thank you to Stephanie Meyer and student council for organizing this year's spirit week. Obviously, this year is challenging to organize a homecoming week. We appreciate everyone's flexibility in making a nice week for our students. We will crown a king and queen this week. Hopefully, it will be before Friday's home playoff game. Here are the theme days for the week.
Mon - PJ Day (wear your comfiest pajamas all day long)
Tues - Jersey Day (represent your favorite team by sporting their jersey or gear)
Wed - Flannel Day (bundle up in your coziest flannel)
Thurs - West G Spirit Day (wear your blue and white to show your Wolverine Pride)
