Important Information

PSAT Reminder - The PSAT will be given to all sophomore students and interested freshmen and junior students on October 14, 2020.  If students are not testing, they do not report to school.  English teachers, please communicate with your online students that they have to come to school by 7:20 A.M. on the 14th if they are testing. All staff members will participate in the test day. David Callahan put together an informational video for you to watch ahead of the test day. Please take the time to review this video and the associated brief training materials ahead of the assessment. Click here for teacher testing room assignments.

Parent-Teacher Conferences - Hundreds of conferences were held for high school students over the two evenings.  I heard mostly positive comments regarding the conferences, and many communicated they preferred the Zoom meetings over in-person conferences.  Thank you all for your work and communication that made the event valuable for our parents and you. Andi and Dale, thank you for feeding everyone!  Chelsea and Lisa, your work in organizing the Google Form and spreadsheets were outstanding.

Data Team Meetings - During your data team meetings, please keep a list in Google Sheets of the students in your class that struggle.  Please also include the appropriate formative and summative assessments in the document.  Here is a link to an example created by our math teachers last year. This data will be used to feed our MTSS process. Please share this form with both Shawn and me by the end of the day Tuesday. Thanks!

Protect Geauga Parks Teacher Grant - The Protect Geauga Parks non-profit organization is sponsoring two $1000 teacher grants.  The application deadline is Friday, October 16, 2020.  If interested in learning more and applying for funds, click here.

PD Evaluation - If you attended the Building Resilience session, please complete the survey here.  Thanks!

Football Team - Congratulations to Coach Sop and the team for winning their first playoff game of the season.  The team defeated Akron East 26-0 to advance to play against Akron's St. Vincent-St. Mary, this Friday.  With the win, junior Joey Di Lalla broke the all-time kicking points record by scoring 116 points in a season, had four field goals on the evening, and scored 14 points to help the team win.  Be sure to congratulate Joey and the team on this huge accomplishment.
