Important Information
Screencastify - The Google add-on, Screencastify Unlimited, is available to any student or staff member at the high school. You can now make recordings longer than five minutes! This is a great tool that many of you are already using to present information to your students. Screencastify can even be used by our students to create and send you presentations of their own. This could be an excellent way for students to demonstrate their knowledge!
Easter Break - Easter Break is from Friday, April 10 through Monday, April 13, 2020. You will not be meeting with your students on those days.
Protect Students' Privacy Online - Be aware that all of the information you present online can be easily copied, duplicated, and even published online. Your Zoom sessions could be recorded and posted on social media. Please keep student information private at all times online. This includes information regarding accommodations, IEP's, 504's medical accommodations, grades, etc. These conversations can be handled through individual email conversations rather than on Zoom sessions.
Online Environment - Be sure to manage your online environment so it is appropriate for everyone. If a student becomes rude or inappropriate, please feel free to remove him or her from your session. Report the situation to the student's parents, Shawn and me. There have been a couple situations where a student had to be reported for inappropriate behavior. Please ensure everyone is polite and does not use sarcastic or harmful language during sessions. Again, please report these situations to Shawn and me. Also, please reach out if you are unsure of how a situation should be addressed. Many online situations are new experiences, and collaboration helps us all.
Have a great second week online!
