Happy New Year - Happy New Year and welcome back to all of you. I hope that you enjoyed your break and stayed far clear of the flu that seemed to travel through many of our students and staff this holiday season. As you probably heard, I was hit pretty hard by the flu on PD day and certainly wished I was able to attend our training and the luncheon. Thank you to Dale for cooking up a great luncheon for our staff. It was great to have Melanie Kennedy bring Class Act to perform for everyone. Thank you, Melanie.
End-of-Course Exam Schedule - A draft of the End-of-Course Exam Schedule will be shared with the department heads at Monday's meeting. The district principals will meet later this week to ensure all buildings are compliant with the state requirements. I expect that the entire EOC schedule will be finalized by the end of the week. This information will be shared with you in next week's bulletin.
Edulastic - Thank you to many of you who are working hard to create AIR-like assessments in Edulastic. The assessment platform does take some time to master and I thank you for persevering through the program's challenges. If you are new to the program, it is important to establish Google Classroom for each of your course sections before assigning an Edulastic assessment. Be sure you have the students enroll themselves in your Classroom section. Creating and assigning assessments tends to be a much simpler process after Google Classroom sections are established. For more information, check out all of Edulastic How-To videos here.
Athletic Director - Joe notified me just before break that he is leaving West Geauga on February 2nd for opportunities in the private sector. He has made many improvements to West Geauga's facilities and programs within the athletic department during the past two and half years. Fostering positive relationships with community members and mentoring student athletes have always been important in his role. Joe's hard work and dedication to West Geauga is certainly appreciated. We wish him the best!
