Edulastic Updates - This week Edulastic provided several updates to the company's premium customers. These updates include easy access to assessment reports, the ability to create report cards based on mastery, and student passwords for entering assessments. Creating passwords solves many of the teacher problems we were experiencing when students are absent on the day of an assessment. Again, all of you have a premium account provided by West Geauga Local Schools. These assessments provide nice technology enhanced questions with data reports that will help teachers make informed decisions about instruction. Ohio State Tests - I am beginning to build our 2018 Testing Information website. This site will serve as a resource for all things you need to know regarding the upcoming tests. Please be sure reference this page for all testing information. Please note that I have recently posted a link to a Test Administration Certification course. This is similar to last year's online training but contains updated information for this year's assessments. You will need to log in for this training using your TIDE/AIR account. Please let me know if you have problems getting into your account.
2018 EOC's - I stated last week that I was hopeful I could present to you the 2018 EOC Testing Schedule. We are awaiting a response to a question we posed to ODE regarding the test schedule. I will send the schedule to you as soon as we hear from ODE.
Social Studies News - Congratulations to Bill Bryan who has been selected to be a part of Ohio's American History writing team. This means that Bill will play a large part in the upcoming work to revise Ohio's Model Curriculum for American History. Thank you for applying to be a part of this committee, Bill. You will undoubtedly to a fantastic job.
Science Department News - This week also brought good news to Mike Sustin and the district as he was selected to be a part of Ohio's Model Curriculum writing team. Mike will work with other select science teachers in the State of Ohio to develop the Environmental Science model curriculum. Congratulations, Mike. You will also do a great job and we are pleased you will represent West Geauga.
Coach Marino - This weekend Joe Marino was inducted into the Top Gun Hall of Fame at the Alliance High School's annual wrestling tournament. Joe was recognized for his long list of accomplishments as a coach that include two state champions, two state runners-up, 21 state-placers and 37 state qualifiers. Congratulations, Coach Marino on this well deserved award. Click here to see the News Herald's article on Joe's recent accomplishment.
