Important Information

Coverage - It is not uncommon these days to have several teachers out per day without a substitute. I appreciate all of you stepping in the cover classes during your planning period. Submit all coverage forms to Joyce so they can be signed and sent to the board office. As a reminder, if you know you will be out in advance, please put in for a substitute as soon as possible.  The earlier the notice goes out to the substitutes, the better chance we will secure coverage for the day.

Black History Month - We are quickly approaching February 1st. Please make plans to celebrate black history in all of your classes during the month.  In many subject areas, Ohio's Learning Standards address African-American authors, events, artists, and contributors in the curricular fields. Make it a point to discuss, research, and present information, ideas, and contributions of our society's black figures.  For more information on how to incorporate these ideas into your lessons, be sure to read the information below and the links under Good Professional Reading.

Webinar: Diversity and Teaching Black History Month - The Anti-Defamation League is hosting a free webinar at 4:00 on January 26, 2021, to provide "ideas to engage students in lessons and activities that get them to think broadly and critically about the black experience in all of its complexity, including history, point of view, politics, struggle, first-person experience, art, literature, and more." In addition to learning how to implement these important topics into your lessons, CEU's will be awarded for attending.  Click here to sign up for the webinar.

PBIS - Don't forget to positively recognize kids daily. Record your PBIS recognition here.
