Supporting our Students - When a loss is experienced in the community, many students experience a tremendous amount of stress. Students often lack the tools to deal with these feelings. It is important to always keep an eye out for struggling students. We have counselors and support staff ready to assist students in need. Please let an administrator or counselor know immediately if you notice a student emotionally struggling. Thank you!
West G TV Announcements - Please make sure you show the morning announcements to your students sometime during the second period. Important information gets passed along that students need to see and hear. Four additional minutes have been built into the bell schedule to accommodate the announcements. Here is West G TV's YouTube channel. If you have trouble viewing, please let Kelly or Sarah know.
Learning Environment - It is important that all of you adhere to the expectations we have for our students. Ensure school rules are being followed in the classroom. Students are not permitted to wear hats, hoods or bring book bags to class. If you see students are consistently violating these expectations, you need to issue suspension points. If students are reporting to class after the bell rings, issue suspension points. It is important that we all hold the students accountable for the rules that exist in school. It is much easier when everyone enforces the rules than just a few. Thank you.

Newbury Shadowing Days - On February 3, 4, and 6, thirty-eight Newbury students will shadow West Geauga High School students from 8:00 to 12:15. The Newbury students will eat lunch and attend advisory period during their stay. Please join me and our host students in welcoming each Newbury student to West G. If these students join your class, please introduce them to your students and involve them in your class activities. We are in the process of pairing West G students with current 8th through 11th grade Newbury students. Mr. Krippel and I hope to have a list for you by the end of the week.

Senior Internship - The senior internship is designed to provide interested and eligible seniors with the opportunity to participate in meaningful independent projects of their own selection and design. Many of you have agreed to be an advisor for the students. Please know that you are limited to four students. You can find a description of your obligations here. Academic Support Forms - We have completed three weeks of the third quarter. If a student struggles for three weeks in your class, you need to complete an academic support form. Procedures and instructions can be found by clicking here or on the Academic Support Form tab at the top of this page.
Positive Phone Calls - Please contact parents when students are to be commended for the outstanding work they are doing in your classroom. There is not one parent that would not want to hear great news about their child. This message gets passed to the student and encourages him/her to continually put their best foot forward.
