Important Information
Vape and JUUL - Please be aware that students are getting away with using vape and JUUL products in HS classrooms. Students are able to dissipate the "smoke" by blowing into sleeves, hoods, or by holding their breath for several seconds. Please do not allow students to wear hoods up in your classrooms. It is easy for a user to turn their head to blow into the clothing. Also, if you notice an unusual smell (mango, cucumber, berry, vanilla bean, etc.) it is likely someone recently took a hit of the illegal device. If you suspect someone in particular is using, discreetly get a message to Mr. Dahlhofer and/or me and we will meet with the student. For more information on these products, click here.

Academic Support Forms - The academic support form has been modified to allow teachers to enter the information more quickly. No longer are teachers required to enter standards not being mastered by the student. The category is still there if the teacher wants to leave it blank or enter a few items to describe the student's major deficits. The end of the 3rd quarter is only three weeks away. Please ensure parents of struggling students are properly communicated with by reaching out to home with a phone call or email and completing the support form. Snow Ball - Thank you to Stephanie Meyer for organizing another spirit week and winter dance for our HS students. Those that attended the dance seemed to have a nice time. Also, thank you to Sara D., Martha B., Molly B., Kelly K., and Chris R. for being great chaperones at the event.
Geauga Achieve Fundraiser - The annual Geauga Achieve Fundraiser will be held this year on Saturday, March 9th. Tickets are $60/couple and can be purchased through Emily Swartzlander in the Geauga Achieve classroom (115). Click here for more information.
Period Attendance - All teachers must take accurate attendance every period. This is a requirement of the state and the information is reported directly to ODE. Please see Theresa Poelking or me with any questions.

Monitor Halls - Please stand at your door between periods. Not only does this help curb any negative behavior, but it is also a nice gesture to greet the students as they enter your room.
Course Recommendations - Last week, Ron emailed the course recommendation procedure to the staff. It is very important to make sure that your recommendation and the students' desire to take the class match. These requests are what populates student schedules for the 2019-2020 school year. Of course, this information is reviewed by parents and counselors, but it is extremely important this is accurate. Please review Ron's email here for more information or see a counselor or school administrator with questions. Thank you!
