MAP Testing - If you are a subject area that is utilizing MAP testing, please make sure you look at the data that is provided to you in your NWEA account. This data needs to be discussed during your PLC's and utilized to provide instructional decisions. Consider these testing opportunities a formative practice where you can gain insight into student learning. Each student needs to be able to master the standards in your classroom. This is a tool to help ensure you get them to succeed. If you don't feel some of the students are taking the assessments seriously, feel free to incentivize the testing. For example, work with individual students to set progress goals. If they reach the goals, give extra credit.

Benefits of MAP Reporting for Teachers
ACT - On February 20th, West Geauga High School will issue the state's ACT exam. This test will require a lot of help from many members of the staff. I appreciate Sarah Widman's efforts to create a schedule that minimizes disruptions to high stakes tested areas. In doing so, some teachers were scheduled during their planning period. Teachers missing their planning period will be paid at the contracted rate. Alternatively, staff members wanting a planning period instead of being paid should let me know. I will make arrangements for coverage. All teachers proctoring the ACT will need to meet Ms. Widman and me in the library after school on Wednesday, February 13th to go over testing requirements. Thank you. Click here for the schedule.
Junior Class Meeting - On Monday, February 11, 2019, during 6th period, all juniors will meet in the cafeteria to complete the ACT Pre-Registration forms. Please help us in making sure all your 6th-period juniors attend. If you have a class full of juniors during 6th period, please assist us in the cafeteria. Thank you.

Be sure to utilize best practices and strategies learned during the PD when working with your students. Hopefully, you added tools to your repertoire of teaching and learning lessons and strategies.
