Important Information
Beck Benefit - Friday evening was fantastic for Beck and his family. It is estimated that over 500 people attended the fundraiser and over $11,000 was raised! This couldn't have been done without the help of so many of you. It was outstanding to see so many staff members contribute to the event. Thank you for all gave to make the event extremely successful. Please know the Beck family expressed sincere appreciation for everyone's time and effort to support their son. Paper - As we near the end of the year, please be conscientious of the amount of paper you use. We do not have an unlimited supply and our reserves are getting low. There are so many opportunities to present content, assessments and learning opportunities that do not require the use of paper. Please consider them. Also, please remember that the district has purchased Edulastic, an online assessment tool. This tool allows for students to completed assessment electronically and provides you with great data that can be used to inform instruction.
Testing - On Monday and Tuesday we will issue the Math End-of-Course exams. Please make sure all proper testing protocol is followed. Ensure all tests and students are monitored per district and state requirements and that all security requirements are met. Any violations of state testing mandates must be reported to either the school principal or assistant principal as soon as possible.
Please reference this ODE Calculator Guidance Sheet for allowable calculators. Students may bring their own calculators to the math tests. WGHS math students are required to have a TI-83 or TI-84. If you encounter a calculator that is not typically used by our students, please seek Mr. Bishop or Ms. Cooey for assistance. Calculators must be cleared before AND after the tests. After calculators are cleared, they will be in Radian Mode. Make sure all put back into Degree Mode. Ms. Cooey's video below will show you how to change this setting.
Students will have 90 minutes to complete each part of the Algebra or Geometry End-of-Course Exam. It has been our experience that most students will use most, if not all, of the allotted time. Please encourage all students to use time wisely and to do their best.
