Important Information

Ohio Test Portal Login - All teachers and classroom aides have been given a test administrators login for the AIR/TIDE site. Some of you had accounts that were created last year and others were created on March 21st. Those that were created on March 21st should have received an email containing login information. Please be sure all of you can log in to the TA Practice Site prior to Wednesday, March 30th. Send me an email if you can not successfully login. Use this site to test your login.

AIR Proctors - All building teachers and aides will need to be available to proctor the AIR assessments during the week of April 11th. It is important that all of you are knowledgeable in test administration. Ohio has created a nice tutorial that will guide you through the entire process. All teaching staff will need to go through this 30 minute online certificated training prior to staff meeting on April 4th.  Print the certificate and place in my mailbox.  Click here to access the training video.

Test Admin Manual - Be sure you bookmark this link and reference it as needed during the AIR test.  The link contains the test manual and much of the information contained in the administration training video.

Final Quarter - As we enter the last quarter of the school year, please take a moment to emphasize the high expectations you continue to hold for your students.  During homeroom, remind seniors of the handbook policy indicating the consequences of receiving discipline during the 4th quarter.  See below of actual language:

  • A violation of any school rule or regulation may result in disciplinary action, including suspension, after school detention, Saturday School, removal, expulsion or possible court action, or denial of participation in extra-curricular activities including exclusion from the graduation ceremony (ALL SENIORS RECEIVING SUSPENSIONS DURING THE 4TH QUARTER WILL BE EXCLUDED FROM GRADUATION CEREMONIES).

ACT Prep - West Geauga has made it possible for each of its students to receive over $700 worth of ACT prep from The Public Tutoring Initiative for only $39. Please encourage your students to sign up for this excellent opportunity.  There is an important meeting to be held on March 30, 2016 at 7:00 PM at the High School in Room 124. We highly recommend students attend to garner further information.  Click here for more details about the initiative and how you can sign up to better prep for the ACT!

Kim Fish Fundraiser - Thank you to the many of you who have devoted many hours to making fundraising event for Kim a successful event.  We are still looking for volunteers to help.  Let me know if you would like to help but can not actually be at the event on Friday, April 8th.  Be sure you check out our website for detailed information regarding the event.  Click here for a direct link.

Autism Awareness Month - April is Autism Awareness Month and we are celebrating!  West Geauga has many students on the autistic spectrum both in traditional and self contained classrooms.  Please participate and encourage student participation in the awareness opportunities presented by Sara Demuch and her STARS students.  She will be delivering ribbons and random acts of kindness links that were discussed in last week's bulletin.  Thank you, Sara, for bringing this very important campaign to our staff and students.
