Important Information

Google Voice - Here is some great information to share with your students.  Voice typing is now available in Google Docs.  Simply click "Tools" in Google Docs and "Voice Typing..."  I gave it a try this weekend and it works really well.  Click here to learn more.

Plant of the Month - West G's horticulture students are offering a Plant of the Month program to any West G employee.  You will recieve six beautiful plants throughout the year for $65.  Click here for more information and to learn how to order.

Parent/Teacher Conferences - Parent teacher are Wednesday, October 7 and Thursday, October 15 from 6:00 to 9:00. Click here for more information.

Interventions - When a student is struggling in a course, we must continue to work with the student in order to help them become successful.  Classroom based intervention strategies are Tier 1 of the RTI process and we document these interventions on the academic support forms.  "Within Tier 1, all students receive high-quality, scientifically based instruction provided by qualified personnel to ensure that their difficulties are not due to inadequate instruction."  West Geauga High School classroom teachers are the qualified individuals that can make the interventions possible.  It is imperative that we reach each and every student in our classes, every day.  I have updated the RTI link at the top of this blog to provide you with resources to help struggling students.

Homecoming Week - Congratulations to Stephanie Rischar on organizing a successful homecoming week. The parade was full of West G pride and we played an outstanding football game. Congratulations to Maria Tirabassi for being voted WG's 2015 Homecoming Queen. Thank you to everyone that helped make the week great including those that volunteered their time to participate in the parade and at the dance.  Be sure to check out the school's photos here and Pastor Photography's photos here.

Reach Each One - How have you reached out to the student in the room who is quiet and doesn't show much of an interest in your class? How have you pushed a student who has an A+ in your class to achieve even more?  How have you intervened with a struggling student?
