Important Information
#IWishMyTeacherKnew - Last week @kylemschwartz, a teacher from Colorado, posted several notes on Twitter to show what students think and go through everyday they are in school. Since Ms. Schwartz posted this on her Twitter account, her following has grown to over 7,000 and students around the world have posted their own thoughts using this hashtag. Posts very moving, inspirational and heartbreaking. I encourage you to enter this hashtag and/or read this article in the Christian Science Monitor. As you read, think again if you don't think these posts could be from students in your class. Thank you Mr. Bryan for sharing this article.
Pop Machine Fund - Mr. Walton has devoted many years to making sure the pop machine provided funds for staff lunches and celebrations. Thank you for all of your years of service, Mr. Walton. We are now in need of someone to step forward and pick up where Mr. Walton left off. Please let me know if you are interested and I can get you all the information you need. Thanks.
| It was an honor to congratulate our newly inducted National Technical Honor Society students last week. |
Failing Students - Throughout the year you should be in contact with any family of a student that is struggling in your class. In addition to emails and phone calls, academic referral forms should be submitted. If you haven't already, reach out to any student's family that is in danger of failing for the year. Communicate ideas and intervention strategies that can help the student succeed during the remaining months of the school year. This conversation should be about what you and the student can do together in order for the student to be successful.
NGA - On Monday, April 27, we will begin the End of Year (EOY) assessments. I have shared a folder with each of you in Google Drive that will display the EOY groups and assessment schedule. Here is a direct link. Teachers in an assessed area need to go through the practice tests with their students prior to the schedule test date.
