Important Information

Prom - Thank you to Margie Susong for providing another awesome experience for our seniors.  Prom 2014 was a great success and fun was had by all.  Also a big thank you to Mark W., Chelsea T., Lou C., Susan R, Joy P. and Keli S. for chaperoning this years dance. Sierra Gervasi was our prom queen and Ryan Zuzek our king.  Be sure to check out the pictures here and by typing #RockYourProm in Twitter.  DJ Photos can be found here.

PTO Breakfast - PTO did a great job putting together a nice breakfast for us last week.  Here are photographs of all the notes that were created by our students.  Was one written to you?

2014 Building Calendar - Please click here to access next year's building calendar. *SLO pre and post-assessment dates are not listed.  They will be added to the calendar prior to the end of the year.

Track Building - The West Geauga Athletic Boosters are raising funds for a new building to house our track equipment.  On May 31 from 8-noon, the boosters are collecting aluminum cans by the stadium to help pay for the structure.  Click here for more information.

College Fair - WGHS and WEDGE will be hosting a college fair for current 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th graders.   A wonderful program has been put together that includes guest speakers talking about choosing a major, college athletics and tips for choosing a college.  Please find the attached flyer here and encourage all of your students to attend on May 28th from 5-8 pm.  We would love to see teachers there prior to the board meeting if you can make it.

PBIS-Across all WG school buildings, we will be initiating a Positive Behavior Interventions and Support model beginning in August 2014.  Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports (PBIS) are systems and
individualized supports and interventions that help people enhance and improve their productive social behavior while reducing problematic behaviors.   The primary focus is on improving school environments as educators implement Schoolwide Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports (SWPBIS).  PBIS will be a topic at this week's staff meeting.

SLO's - When you are finished with your SLO's, please print and turn in to me.  Please include the SLO, Pre-test, Post-test and Rubric.

Blizzard Bags -  Blizzard Bag #2 is due on May 28th and applies to January 29th's attendance. Please use Progress Book's period attendance to document if a student should be marked present for January 29th.

Senior Awards Night - Thank you to all of our presenters for recognizing students this past Monday.  If your department did not give an award, please consider one for next year.  Students and parents truly appreciate recognition received by you.

Graduation - Thank your for the overwhelming support you are giving the students, teaching profession and me by attending this year's graduation ceremony.  We have over 50 teacher and administrators from all building attending the ceremony.  Currently, I only know of those attending if a gown was ordered.  Please send me an email if you are attending with your own gown so I can get an accurate count for the ceremony.  Thanks!  Graduation begins at 7:30 and will require you to be at the auditorium earlier. More details will follow.

End of the Year Checkouts - Check outs can be held at the end of the day on Friday, June 6 if you are finished with all responsibilities.  You can begin to collect signatures from Pam and Joyce as early as Thursday, June 5.  I will be in the week of June 9th if you would like to have some extra time to get your work completed.  Grades must be submitted prior to checking out and are due not later than Tuesday, June 10th.
