| Homecoming King and Queen, Kevin Petransky and Lindsey Kulp |
Homecoming 2018 - Our students had a great spirit filled Homecoming Week. Thank you to all of you that helped make the events exciting for our students. Once again, Stephanie Meyer worked with student council and dedicated many hours to make sure all homecoming events went off without a hitch. Unfortunately, our football team fell to Geneva 16-8 Prior to the game, 2017 Queen, Sydney Palivec announced Lindsey Kulp as the 2018 Homecoming Queen and Kevin Petransky as West Geauga's first ever (that we know of) Homecoming King. Thank you to Molly Brunner, Chris Rader and Keli Sessler for helping with the dance in which 550 students attended. All of you were a great help!
9th Grade Chromebooks - Seventy-five percent of the ninth grade Chromebooks were distributed to parents last week. Please begin to require the students to bring them to class on a daily basis. Communicate to students that do not yet have their device that parents are able to pick up Chrombooks from the main office this week.

Academic Support Forms - The purpose of the Academic Support Form is to provide a systematic procedure for teachers to document interventions initiated with the student. These forms are reviewed on a weekly basis by West Geauga High School's C.A.P. (Counselors, Administrators, Psychologist) team members. The system also serves to:
- document at-risk students
- identify strategies used to help the struggling learner
- notify families when their child is struggling in class
- communicate with families of the struggling learner interventions utilized by the classroom teacher
- provide an opportunity for parents to become involved in the child learning
- notify the CAP team when a student struggles in one or multiple courses
- initiate a process where all students can be successful
Forms are to be completed by teachers when a student begins to struggle in the classroom, when a student continues to struggle for three weeks and then again at six weeks. Continued documentation forms are submitted throughout the year for a student that continues to struggle beyond six weeks.
You will receive an email with a record of your responses. A second email will be received from noreply@westg.org. This second email contains a letter that is automatically generated and sent to your student's parents. Keep this document for your records.
This information can always be found at the top of this website under the page link "Academic Support Form". You may access the above site or click here for a direct link to complete the Academic Support Form.

Professional Growth Plans - You are scheduled to be formally or informally observed during the 2018-2019 school year. Please be sure to complete your growth plan prior to September 30th and schedule a day to review the document with me. When we meet, please have a few dates and times that are available for your first observation.
You will need to establish two goals when creating your growth plan. The first goal should address Student Outcomes/Achievement and the second goal needs to reflect Teacher Performance on the Ohio Standards for the Teaching Profession.
Please be sure to include building goals that were discussed on Convocation Day.
Here is an example of a completed Professional Growth Plan.

Teachers with a 2017-2018 OTES Rating of Skilled or Accomplished will develop their Growth Plan independently. Teacher with a rating of Developing will work with their assigned evaluator to complete the Growth Plan.
