Important Information
New Staff Member - On Monday, December 12th, please join me in welcoming Ms. Kelsey Fladda to our math department. Ms. Fladda joins West Geauga High School's teaching staff after successfully completing two and a half years with the Parma City School District. Ms. Fladda will teach the algebra I and personal finance classes and Mrs Razzante will transitions back to the middle school at the end of the week. A great big thank you to Sandy Razzante for coming to the HS this semester to work with all of our algebra I and personal finance students.
Academic Support Forms - All teachers must complete academic support forms for every struggling student in your class. Again, these forms are used in place of sending home progress reports midway through the quarter. It was brought to my attention this week that many of you think these forms start over at the beginning of each quarter. This is not the case. When a student struggles in your class, regardless of where we are in the quarter, these forms need to be completed. These forms serve to:
- document of at-risk students.
- identify strategies used to help a struggling learner.
- notify families when their child is struggling in class.
- communicate with families of the struggling learner regarding interventions utilized by the classroom teacher.
- provide an opportunity for parents to become involved in the child's learning process.
- notify the CAP team when a student struggles in one or multiple courses.
- initiate a process where all students can be successful.
- prompt a response from staff members that can provide additional services to students.
- monitor struggling students throughout the learning process.

Staff Meeting - We will meet in the library immediately after school for our staff meeting. I will have a few quick announcements prior to some holiday festivities. Once again, Dale Smith will be providing our staff with some snacks as we enjoy a performance by our Class Act. Thank you Dale and Melanie for bringing the holiday cheer to our entire meeting!
