Important Information

Building Goals - If you recall in my opening presentation at the beginning of the year, I described goals for our building this year.  These goals included a creation of productive data-driven collaborative teams aimed at growing students and embedding effective writing activities in weekly class work.  It is important you keep these goals in mind and work toward successfully implementing them in your work.

Evaluations - It is expected this week that we will be able to begin the process of completing evaluations.  After the association ratifies the MOU detailing our evaluation process, I will email you the evaluation schedule for the year.  All of you will need to complete a growth plan as part of your formal or informal evaluation.  In your OTES growth plan, please be sure to address the building goals and their implementation in your professional work.  Each year I truly look forward to the professional conversations that occur during the process.  Although we are getting started a little late, this year is no different.

Class Act Performance - Join our class act at the Cleveland Monsters Hockey Game on December 20th at 7:00 P.M. and watch them perform the National Anthem.  Tickets have been discounted to $10 and are available to all of your friends and family from a member of Class Act.  Hope to see you there.

Cross Country State Championships -  Our cross country season came to an end this weekend with some outstanding accomplishments by Olivia Conley and Deanna Swinerton.  Deanna placed 23rd in the state and broke an 18 year school record.  Olivia also performed extremely well and placed 30th.  A big congratulations to Coach Taurasi for coaching these kids up.  He looks forward to working with both of them this upcoming track season!  Way to go!

Connectedness Chart -Evidence shows that students who feel cared for by adults in their school and those that feel part of the school's culture will perform better academically, have higher attendance rates and will less likely be involved in disciplinary issues. Mr. Callahan and Ms. Sargent have created an extremely valuable tool that can be used by all staff to identify any student needing to feel connected to our building. If you haven't already, please take a moment to identify students you have made a connection with. Please revisit this chart in a week and identify and reach out to any student needing a connection. Click here to access the chart.

HS Website - If you advise a club, activity or coach a sport, please make sure that portion of the high school's website is correct and up to date. Any changes for athletics, clubs and activities should be directed to Lisa Porter. Classroom websites are the responsibility of the teacher and also should be kept up to date.
