Important Information
| Thank you, Dale, for the great holiday meeting treats. |
Hoops for Hope - Congratulations to Cindy O'Janpa for putting together another American Cancer Society event. We had many student and adult participants that raised $230 for cancer research during Wednesday's activity period. Thank you to Joe L. for setting up the music system and scoreboard so our students could relax and enjoy the event.
Midterm Exams - Thank you to all of you for your flexibility and communication with the students as we altered the final exam schedule. Students transitioned to the new schedule and have been following correct procedures if they intend to arrive late or leave early during the three exam days. Please do not make special arrangements to have students take their exams during a period that is different than their class period. Stick to the posted schedule. Thank you, everyone!
Midterm Exams and Gradebook - When entering midterm exam grades, please use December 19th assignment date.
Holiday Arrangements - Be sure to stop by the environmental education tables during lunch periods on Monday, December 14. Every year the wreaths and center pieces tend to be a big hit so get there early. All items range in price from $6 and up.
A.L.I.C.E - Please review all the A.L.I.C.E. procedures with your students. You can find the direct link to our A.L.I.C.E folder here.
| Our Class Act did a great job performing for our staff at the holiday staff meeting. Thank you, Melanie. |
Academic Pinning and Letter Ceremony - Congratulations went out this past week to students who received their academic pin and an opportunity to order a letter for their jacket. These students earned a minimum 3.75 weighted GPA during the 2014-2015 school year.
Career Exploration and Planning - Please see the message below from Sarah Widman and Dusty Timmons.
The recent ODE teaching standards require teachers of students in grades K-12 to include career advising and readiness in their lesson plans. Our district adopted a new Career Advising policy beginning with the 2015-2016 school year. We need to document career advising lessons being implemented at each grade level. We are requesting your assistance.
A few of our school counselors have developed a brief Google survey to help us document what is already being done in the classroom. Please use the link below to record any lessons, activities or projects you plan and implement within your classroom to encourage career awareness, career exploration and career planning. In addition, please share any ideas and resources you would need to implement a new career advising activity. We look forward to reviewing your lessons and ideas.
All surveys should be completed before we leave for winter break on Friday, December 18th. We appreciate your participation.
