Important Information
Open House - Open house will take place this Wednesday from 7:00 - 9:00. Parents have been asked to report to the library between 6:45 and 7:00 to pick up schedules with the first class bell ringing at 7:00. Please have available any textbooks and/or resources you expect your students to bring home or use in class. Explain where students and parents can find class documents, website and presentations online. Discuss how your parents can view your Twitter accounts and/or sign up for the class Remind 101 accounts. Your classrooms and hallway bulletin boards should be decorated with relevant classroom materials. Joyce will print name tags and parent sign in sheets for each teacher. Please click the flyer that was sent home for class schedules and additional open house information.
Evaluation Cycle - Please let me know if you would like to be included in this year's evaluation cycle.
Sunshine Committee - Ms. Cooey is accepting $10 contributions to anyone wishing to donate to the Sunshine Fund
Computer Replacement - Last week Sean Whelan sent out an email telling you about the district's two year plan to replace teacher computers. Please complete this survey so you may let Sean know what type of computer you would prefer in you classroom.
Alice Drill - Thank you to everyone for your participation and cooperation during last weeks drill. Please remember that when a safety drill is conducted, all classroom activities must stop and attention must be focused on the drill. Typical crisis drills will last approximately 15 minutes. It is important you provide the students with valuable conversation regarding what should happen during presented scenarios. It is equally important to elaborate on why the students should be making the decisions based on the information they have.
PLC's - Teachers should not work in isolation during PLC time. Every Wednesday morning is an opportunity to collaborate with peers in order to improve students learning. All groups need to complete the PLC Feedback Form found here and at the top of this bulletin. This form provides an opportunity to let me know the focus of your discussions and to answer questions as they develop. Please be prompt to each 7:15 PLC meeting as your time and input is extremely valuable. Here are some topics to discuss and work on during upcoming PLC meetings:
