Important Information

Teacher Appreciation - I would like to take this opportunity to tell you how much you are appreciated by the parents, students and administration of the West G community.  It is not often enough that educators receive feedback from parents and students regarding the impact we make.  There are times, however, we hear from a former student or family about how much you have contributed to their lives.  In recent months I can think of several situations where a West G staff member received a note, card, email or personal visit from a graduate thanking them for being a great teacher.  Take time to cherish these moments and know you make a difference.    You are an awesome staff that clearly cares about our students and preparing them for an ever changing world.   I am proud you teach at West Geauga High School.  THANK YOU!  In celebration of teacher appreciation I am providing lunch to the staff on Tuesday, May 5th. (Please note this is a date change from original posting last week.)  Breakfast will be provided by the central office administration on Thursday, May 7th and  PTO will be bringing us breakfast on May 14th.

Senior Signing Day - Senior Signing Day congratulates and recognizes our seniors for deciding what
they will be doing after they leave West Geauga High School.  All senior photos will be displayed on certificates at senior awards night and all next week indicating their college or career choice. Thank you to Mr. Callahan, Mrs. Zannetti, Ms. Widman, Ms. Sargent and Mr. Novy for your help in making this an important event.  Thank you to everyone for supporting the activity by wearing your college apparel.

Survey - The West Geauga Local School District is conducting an annual comprehensive assessment of school climate at the middle school and high school.  This questionnaire is one component of this assessment.  This survey is designed to gather your opinions concerning some aspects of school climate and your attitudes concerning the school in which you work, its community and yourself. Your input is very important. Click here to complete survey.

Wow, they did it again!
Congratulations! - Congratulations to Mark Walton and Karen Rex on their upcoming retirement.  As you have seen in Kim Glessner's email, WGEA has organized a celebration at the Fox and Hound on May 29th at 4:00.  Let's celebrate the great work that our two colleagues have accomplished throughout their career by joining everyone on May 29th.  Thank you for organizing, WGEA!

Wolverun - A fantastic and first annual fundraising event has been put together by Interact and PTO.  Please join us on May 31st for Wolverun, a 5K color Run held at West G.  The cost is $30 per person and includes a T-Shirt (if they do not run out), sunglasses and an individual color packet.  Proceeds will benefit PTO and the charity Interact is sponsoring, Women for Women International.  Click here to register.
