Important Information
2013 National Blue Ribbon School - I couldn't be more proud of the colleagues I work with every day at West Geauga High School. You are a tremendously caring group of individuals who put a lot of work into seeing our students succeed. It is because of your professional characteristics that contributed to our nomination and selection as a National Blue Ribbon School. Congratulations to all of you! You certainly deserve to be recognized by this prestigious award.
Weekly Bulletin - The weekly bulletin now requires a log in and has been restricted to West Geauga staff only.
Professional Development - West Geauga Local School District will be offering professional development sessions throughout the first semester of the school year. These opportunities will allow you to apply for a stipend at the end of the year. You must complete all ten professional development hours in order to qualify for the stipend. A list of the opportunities were emailed to you on September 23 and can be found here.
You can sign up for professional development by accessing the teacher resources link on the districts home page or by clicking here.
National Achievement Scholarship Semifinalist - Congratulations are extended to Senior Paedyn Gomes who is one of approximately 1,600 Black American high school students who have qualified as a Semifinalist in the 2014 National Achievement Scholarship Program. Paedyn will be recognized during a homecoming assembly.
Tech Wednesday - Thank you to everyone that has attended the Tech Wednesday sessions. Sean is doing a great job of providing you with information and tools that you can use in your classroom. Due to the OTES/eTPES presentation, we will not have a Tech Wednesday this week.
Student Planners - Use the student planners when issuing a student a hall pass. There is a hall pass section in the back of each student planner.
Chromebook Carts - Chromebook carts have been issued to the Science, Social Studies, English and Math Departments. Please contact a department head if you would like to use a cart but do not have one in your department. See me if you are having a difficult time accessing a cart.
OTES/eTPES - Please plan on attending a staff meeting on Wednesday to go over OTES and eTPES. I have noticed in eTPES that many of you have successfully logged in to the system. Great! That is the first step. I highly encourage you to explore around once you have logged in to the eTPES system. After you are comfortable with the layout, go through section #1 (self assessment) and skip it or complete it in order to move to section #2 (growth/improvement plan) and complete it by signing off in the eTPES system (you do not complete a plan at the beginning of year 1). Even though you will not complete a plan until after the evaluation cycle, you do have to go through the section in your eTPES account to start the evaluation process. I will try to clear up any questions you may have about this process on Wednesday.
