Important Dates
September 4 - Tech Wednesday - I have not had a chance to touch base with Sean Whelan yet but I was thinking we head into some intermediate topics. I have created a document where you can add your ideas that you would find helpful in the classroom. Click here to access document.
September 4 - Open House - 7:00-9:00 - Joyce will have name tags in your mailbox. Please ask that all the parents sign in when they enter your classroom. Put the sign in sheets in my mailbox.
September 12 - School Pictures - Please make sure you make your way to the auxiliary gym to have your picture taken.
September 13 - Academic Referral Form Due - Please make sure you submit a form for any student who is receiving a poor grade in your class. I am changing the form this year and expect it to be online. I will have this information to you as soon as it is available.
September 24 - Progress Reports Due - Please only complete progress reports for those students who are receiving a D or F.
- Keeping Period Attendance- Make sure you keep period attendance in ProgressBook in addition to homeroom attendance.
- Keep Students Out of the Halls - Please limit the number of students that you let out of your classrooms to use the restrooms. A good classroom policy might be to give a student one pass per quarter or even per semester.
- Posting Grades Online - Please make sure you post grades on ProgressBook within 24 hours of giving the assignment. If it is an assignment that will take you longer to grade, please communicate this with the parents on your website, blog, etc.
- Online Presence - Do students have an online place to go get class information?
- Tech Wednesday - A great turnout this week for Tech Wednesday. I think the number is close to 30. Please see me if you didn't include your name on the sign in sheet. See above for more Tech Wednesday information.
- Staff Celebration - As you can see from the sunset picture above, we had great weather and a wonderful evening. Thank you to everyone that brought a dish (and cookies). It was nice to socialize with you and to meet your guests. I hope to do similar events in the future. Please let me know if you have pictures to share from the evening.
- High Expectations - Please remember to have high expectations for each of your students. Be sure to communicate this with all class members.
- Reach Each One - What will you do this week to reach each of your students?
