Important Information
PD Day - Thank you for a great PD day. Certified and classified employees attended different sessions last week. Those that I attended were very informative and productive, and I heard the other sessions were good, too. I know many of you enjoyed Sarah Thrasher's session that lent itself to productivity with class websites and Google Classroom. Thank you, Sarah, for your presentation and for working with staff one-on-one. The teachers also attended Colleen Wetherwax's informative presentations on student addiction and Grief and Loss. The handouts and resources from Colleen's presentation are located here. The Advanced Placement teachers met in the afternoon to discuss the recent changes to the exams. Thank you all for the collaborative discussion to providing the best testing opportunities for our AP students.
Kindness Week- Thank you to our student council members for working with Mrs. Meyer and the administration to develop a Kindness Week. The week's events were combined to align with our PBIS work and alleviate some of the challenges this year brings with Covid. Before I left for the weekend, it was great to see the positive comment magnets adhered to each students' locker in the building. I also enjoyed reading two dozen challenges listed in this document shared with students and staff. Please promote this challenge with your students and encourage their participation.
Monitor Halls - Please stand at your door between periods. Not only does this help curb negative behavior, but it is also a nice gesture to greet the students as they enter your room.
Morning Announcements - West G TV presents the morning announcements to the school daily. If you advise a club or activity or coach a sport, please submit announcements recognizing your students. The videos are played in your classroom through West G TV's YouTube Channel and are a great tool to recognize students as part of our PBIS program. You are expected to access the channel and play the announcements daily. Please see Mr. Bishop if you have trouble connecting to the announcements.
