Interact - Mrs. Talty and the Interact Club initiated a project that raised $130,000 for hurricane victims in St. Thomas. St. Thomas Interact adviser, Kerish Robles, and one of the Interact students, Danika Labone, visited West Geauga High School on Friday to tell our club how the aid has helped rebuild their school and community. Accident Reports - Student accident reports need to be completed by the staff member who was supervising the student when the injury occurred. Please fill out the form as soon as possible following the accident. Student accident forms can be found in the nurse's office or in the school's main office. Staff accidents are reported through Public School Works and the link is found at the top right of the district's website. Please be as detailed as possible when completing both reports. Thank you.
Remind and Testing - Please subscribe to the HS staff Remind account to receive important text messages regarding this week's testing. Please text this message @wghs1 to 81010 to get on the message list. When necessary, we have found this a good way to get messages to the staff quickly regarding testing.
Here We Go! - We officially begin the testing season on Monday. As I stated in Thursday's staff meeting, I am more confident than ever regarding the readiness of our students to take the AIR exams. Our entire staff, especially those who work directly with students in AIR tested courses, have worked hard to ensure they are prepared to do their best. Now, let's give our students confidence that they know the material and have developed the necessary skills. Great job and thank you! Have a great week!

Upcoming Events
- Vaping and Our Youth - On April 16, 2019, at 7:00 P.M., West Geauga Local Schools will host a presentation to inform our community members about the national epidemic. Dr. Rome, Director of Adolescent Health at the Cleveland Clinic will present followed by a panel discussion. The presentation is valuable for all parents, teachers, and students and all are encouraged to attend.
- AP Exam Pre-Registration - This event is for all AP students at West Geauga High School. During advisory A OR advisory B on April 17, AP students must stop into HS room 124 to complete the necessary exam paperwork. Students not in the building during advisory periods should contact Mr. Callahan for a time to complete the pre-registration documents.
- Mock Accident - During the advisory/lunch A period (11:50 A.M.) on Monday, April 29th, seniors will report to the north parking lot for a mock car accident. This event is put on by Chester Township Fire and Police Departments. Seniors will be able to eat lunch during 5B.
- Good Deeds Program - On April 30th at 8:30 A.M., our seniors will listen to a presentation by Geauga County Judge Grendell regarding his Good Deeds program. The 30-minute presentation will address adult matters such as titling cars, bank accounts and the need for a Will. Immediately following this program, seniors will board the school buses for the Your Life Your Choice program.
- Your Life Your Choice - At 9:00 A.M. on April 30th, seniors will travel to Bainbridge for our annual You Life Your Choice program. This program is put on by Geauga County Sheriff's office and is designed to have students think about the consequences of driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs. Students will be back to the HS around 12:30 where they will be given time to eat their lunch prior to going to class.
- Senior Decision Day - On May 1, we will celebrate our seniors on the decisions they made for their future plans. Seniors will report to the auxiliary gym where they will have their photo taken while signing certificates identifying their future plans. Staff, please join in the celebration by wearing your college gear and congratulating our seniors on their decisions.
