Important Information
Student Walkout - A nationwide student walkout is planned for Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. Please know the school is neither endorsing nor condoning the walkout. I expect that students will participate in the 17 minute walkout. If students do not leave your classroom, you need to stay in your classroom. If all students leave to attend the walkout, lock your door and assist in supervising the students outside the school building. Chester police will be on hand to help keep our students and staff safe during the planned walkout. Thank you for your help and please let me know if you have questions.
Class Meetings - Thank you for giving up some time with your students in order for Dr. Markwardt and me to speak to our students regarding school safety. Please continue to hold conversations with your students about school safety. It is import to reiterate the consistent messages we are providing to our parents and students. Specifically, if students see/hear something, they need to say something. I will be sending out a newsletter to our families early this week and I will be sure to include you when the message is emailed.
Test Administration Credentials - Thank you to those of you who have completed the TA Certification Course in TIDE. If you haven't completed the course, please do so prior to the end of the week. This link will take you to the course. This is similar to last year's online training but contains updated information for this year's assessments. You will need to log in for this training using your TIDE/AIR account. Please let me know if you have problems getting into your account. Please print your course completion certificate and provide it to Joyce.
WGHS Bands - Despite the Friday's snow day, West Geauga High School's Concert and Symphonic Bands performed at OMEA's Adjudicated Contest. I am happy to announce that both bands performed extremely well. Under the direction of Taylor Uveges, our Concert Band earned an Excellent rating with an overall score of II. The Symphonic Band, led by Jason Branch, received a overall Superior rating of I. With the Superior rating, our Symphonic Band has been invited to compete at the State Contest on the evening of April 20th at North Royalton High School. Congratulations, Taylor and Jason!
Senior Fashion Show - West G parents put on a wonderful Fashion Show this weekend to raise funds to help pay this year's After Prom. Check out the photos here.
